  The Double Cluster is two groups of stars that sit close enough together
  to share one field of view. They were catalogued as a pair by
  Hipparchus. Both are young, around 12 million years, and actually
  physically associated rather than a line-of-sight coincidence.

  History
  Discovered   recorded by Hipparchus around 130 BC

  Dreyer compiled the New General Catalogue in 1888, mostly from the
  sweeps William and John Herschel made of the sky, and numbered its 7,840
  objects in order of right ascension.
