Face SSW and look about 3 fists up — a closed fist at arm's length is about  10°.  Magnitude 7.0.  Nearest bright marker: Kaus Australis, 18° away — M17 is above it and to the  right.  You will find it in Sagittarius.   It spans 11 arcminutes.   Your sky here is about Bortle 7, bright, so for this you want binoculars at least, from here.   The Moon is 70% lit and only 20° away, which will wash out anything faint nearby.   Best in the next 12 months: 2027-07-03, when it reaches 34° with 5.0 hours of darkness and the Moon 1%  lit.
