Face S and look about 5 fists up — a closed fist at arm's length is about 10°. Magnitude 7.5. Nearest bright marker: Altair, 27° away — M2 is level with it, to the left. You will find it in Aquarius. It spans 16 arcminutes, roughly 0.5 Moon-widths. Your sky here is about Bortle 7, bright, so for this you want binoculars at least, from here. The Moon is 62% lit and only 48° away, which will wash out anything faint nearby. Best in the next 12 months: 2027-08-31, when it reaches 49° with 7.0 hours of darkness and the Moon 0% lit.
