Face SSW and look about 2 fists up — a closed fist at arm's length is about  10°.  Magnitude 8.5.  Nearest bright marker: Kaus Australis, 10° away — M28 is directly above it.  You will find it in Sagittarius.   Your sky here is about Bortle 7, bright, so for this you want binoculars at least, from here.   The Moon is 61% lit and only 5° away, which will wash out anything faint nearby.   Best in the next 12 months: 2027-07-04, when it reaches 25° with 3.8 hours of darkness and the Moon 0%  lit.
